Bank of Shanghai (BOS) has become one of the fastest growing and most dynamic Chinese commercial banks, rising to ninth among mainland Chinese banks. The bank's capital has now grown to RMB2.6 billion, with 208 branches, a worldwide agent bank network with over 400 domestic and international banks, and business relationships with more than 5,000 affiliated branches of those banks.

After a strict evaluation process, BOS chose an Enterprise Data Warehouse from Teradata to enhance decision-making and risk management capabilities and optimize customer relationship management. Teradata defeated stiff competition from HP/Neoview, Sun/Greenplum, and IBM/DB2. BOS selected Teradata based on the superior price/performance of its massively parallel processing (MPP) product solutions, as well as Teradata's strong expertise and experience in implementing data warehouses in the financial industry.
